About me

Vicki Hopkins, Author

Vicki Hopkins is an award-winning author of historical romance, historical fiction, Gothic romance, and sweeping family sagas. Since publishing her first novel in 2009, she has taken readers from the drawing rooms and country estates of England to the streets of Victorian Paris, creating stories filled with complicated families, formidable women, imperfect gentlemen, old secrets, and, eventually, happily-ever-afters.

Her fascination with the past began long before she started writing fiction. An enthusiastic genealogist, Vicki has spent years tracing her English ancestry, traveling to England, exploring the places her ancestors lived, and occasionally borrowing their names for her characters. For her, history has never been simply a backdrop, but it is a connection to the people who came before us and the lives they might have lived.

After stepping away from publishing for several years, Vicki returned to historical romance with The Heirs of Hartwell Hall, a Regency story of an unexpected inheritance, a crumbling country house, and two very different people forced to decide what is worth preserving and what they are willing to surrender for love.

Vicki lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her pesky cat who doesn’t allow her to sleep beyond 4:30 a.m. Her hobbies also include wildlife photography, which she sells on Etsy at Refuge Watercolors and fractional ownership of multiple race horses through MyRaceHorse.
